Century Park Roof Repair, Carrollton, TX

Background

Century Park is a 40,000-square-foot commercial building that houses a handful of businesses in Carrollton, Texas. After a Texas sized spring hailstorm caused damage to the building and the roof, Century Park filed an insurance claim to have the damage repaired. CIMA Contractors LLC was hired to step in and assist with the inspection and evaluation of the damage and the building.

Cima demonstrated to the carrier the damage to the roof was extensive and required a complete tear-off & rebuild. In addition to the roof damage, the HVAC equipment had been damaged and the packaged units needed replacement.

Approach

Cima Contractors removed the old roof system down to the deck of the building and added ISO insulation to improving the buildings energy efficiency that meets state and city code requirements. Next Cima installed a new modified bitumen high-performance roofing system using an enhanced special base and cap sheet providing a total membrane thickness of *215 mils. The base sheet alone is used as an effective vapor retarder that provides high tensile strength and excellent dimensional stability.

Due to the widespread and intensity of the hail that fell at the property the AC systems also suffered substantial damage and was part of the insurance claim. Cima Contractors replaced the coils in each of the systems adding years of service life.
