Background

After a hailstorm damaged the roof of a building, Cima Contractors was called in to help the Law Offices of Eklvall & Byrne to navigate through the insurance claims process. After a thorough inspection, the Cima Contractors team was able to provide a detailed scope of the damage and an accurate estimate for the costs of restoration work.

Approach

The damage from the hail was extensive that Cima Contractors recommended a complete re-roof with a tear-off all the way down to the deck of the building. Once the tear-off was complete, the team went to work by installing ISO insulation to meet the city code’s energy requirements.

Cima Contractors replaced the old roof with a brand new modified bitumen high-performance roofing system with an enhanced, special base and cap sheet of *215 mils thick. They also implemented a four-way slope pattern at each of the drains in order to assure proper drainage from the roof.

In addition to replacing the roof, the team replaced the coils in the AC systems because the units had also been damaged by the hail.

Results

The end result of the project was a top-level grade roofing system that was designed to prevent water leaks, handle weathering, foot traffic and last for decades to come. Cima Contractors provided Ekvall & Byrne with a 15-year manufacturer’s warranty total protection plan.
